Thank you for registering for the 2013 Brookhaven Bolt. Below is a list of important information about our race to help create a safe and enjoyable experience. CLICK THE LINK TO THE RIGHT FOR A DOWNLOADABLE VERSION OF RACE DAY INSTRUCTIONS.

The 2013 Brookhaven Bolt is Saturday, May 18th at Village Place Brookhaven on Dresden Drive.
Runners Start is at 8:00 A.M. sharp
Walkers/Strollers Start is at 8:05 A.M.

THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT.
In the event of inclement weather(lightning or hazardous conditions) please check our website home page for up to date information.

RACE PACKET PICK UP
NEW PACKET PICK UP LOCATION FOR 2013!!
Pick up your race number, t-shirt and race packet at the Brookhaven Big Peach Running Co. at Town Brookhaven on Friday May 17th from 4 - 8 P.M.

You may also pick up your race number before the race on race day on the back patio of Verde Taqueria at Village Place Brookhaven. We will also have a post race table where you can pick up your race packet with t-shirt and coupons from our sponsors.

CHIP TIMING BY ZULU RACING
Each race number will be fitted with a small chip on the back of the bib.  This is your official race number and your timing chip, SO PLEASE DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE DEVICE. It is a disposable device so there is no need to turn it back in.  Please make sure that your race number is securely fixed to to the front of your shirt.  Our photographers will do their best to photograph each runner as they cross the finish line. (We will send out a link after the race to see your photos)

Zulu Racing will have a live results feed that will be located near the finish line. Results will be posted to our website, the active.com website and Zulu Racings website shortly after the race.  Awards will be provided to the top 3 male and female winners along with winners from each age group by gender.

STARTING LOCATION
The 2013 Brookhaven Bolt starts on Caldwell Road directly behind Village Place Brookhaven. 

PRE-RACE STARTING AREA/LINE
Pre-Race Staging
All runners are to gather in the parking lot behind Village Place Brookhaven no later than 7:45 A.M.  Please take into account the short walk from our parking area to the starting area.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION
We will have a registration area set up on the back patio of Verde Taqueria.  Race day registration is $35 cash or check only.

RACE START
Our race will begin on Caldwell Road shortly before the intersection with Green Meadows.  Competitive runners are advised to congregate at or near the back entrance to Village Place Brookhaven near Savi Urban Market.  Again we will have many volunteers in the area so do not hesitate to ask questions.

RACE COURSE
Our race is through the beautiful neighborhood of Ashford Park.  Please follow the cones and stay within the race course.  BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU ARE RUNNING AND THOSE AROUND YOU. As with all streets, there will be occasional areas of the road that are not smooth and may present a tripping hazard to runners.

FINISH LINE & FESTIVAL
Our race course is a loop which allows us to have our start and finish lines in the same area.  The finish line is on Dresden Drive directly in front of Village Place Brookhaven.  Upon completing the race, please enter the parking lot on your right for refreshments and snacks.

Post Race Festival
We are very thankful to all of our sponsors for the 2013 Bolt and encourage all of our runners to participate in the post race festival.  We will present awards to our top male and female finishers. IN 2012 we raffled off an iPod, Apple TV, braves tickets, gift certificates, Brookhaven Beer Festival Tickets and much more. Must be present to win.

• Family friendly with jump castles, popcorn and games for the kids.

• Drinks, food and incredible atmosphere
• Visit Village Place Brookhaven stores and restaurants for post race fun
• T-shirt pickup is post race

BRING THE KIDS
This is a family friendly event so please encourage all that do not participate in the race to join us for the post race festival.  We have jump castles(moon walks) and popcorn for the kids.

FIRST AID, RESTROOMS, PERSONAL BELONGINGS
In the case of an emergency, please let one of our volunteers, police officers, firemen or EMS teams know immeditately.  We will have an emergency first aid area in the parking lot directly across Caldwell Road from Library Coffee.Restroom facilities will be located near the back corner of the parking lot. Please leave all personal belonging in your car.  The Brookhaven Bolt Community Association and its volunteers cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.  We do not have an area of safe keeping for your personal items.
